Psychology studies and scientific dream interpretation - by Christina Sponias

I totally believe in the power of dreams and the messages that they hold for the dreamer. I have been studying and working with dreams over 12 years now. I came across this article by Christina Sponias and thought I would share. When you are ready for a dream interpretation and to understand what your dream is telling you, please check out my services.

The knowledge obtained by interpreting the meaning of dreams according to the scientific method of dream interpretation works like free psychotherapy for the human being.  All dreams contain important messages of the unconscious mind. Today they can be easily translated into comprehensible words and sentences, because we know precisely how the dream language and the dream logic work.

Psychology studies through scientific dream interpretation reveal to us many basic points of the dreamer’s personality and life. The unconscious mind is a natural doctor, sending to each dreamer infinite messages that contain objective information, guidance, warnings, advice and predictions. The basic intention is to protect the dreamer’s mental health, and give them balance.

This means that we already have a natural psychologist at our disposal. We only have to learn the symbolic dream language in order to be able to understand the free, and always successful, unconscious psychotherapy.

For example, we can immediately diagnose a mental illness if we observe that someone’s dreams are constantly showing blood, especially if the blood comes out of the dreamer’s head in a dream. Dreams with violent scenes and the spill of blood indicate absurdity.

Generally, nightmares indicate that there are abnormalities in the dreamers’ behavior and in their lives. The dreamers are making mistakes, not seeing a big danger, not doing something they have to, falling into traps, ignoring the characteristics of the objective reality and living in a fantastic world… something is wrong with them, without a doubt.

All studies based on dream analysis clearly reveal to us that our own dreams reflect our behavior, showing us its abnormalities and how we can find balance. They give us gradual lessons, helping us correct our mistakes and develop our intelligence.

For example, the appearance of the snake in a dream is an indication that the dreamer has to pass through painful experiences in order to correct their wrong behavior so that they may avoid future problems. It represents the bad event that will put an end to a situation that could only have a bad end, preventing the dreamer from continuing to make mistakes and from suffering with their consequences.

If we have this knowledge, we can understand the psychology of each dreamer, and understand from what they are passing through in their lives.

We can therefore help them find peace without wasting time.

In the future all psychologists will be guided by the wisdom of the unconscious mind in the dream messages, since this is a font of safe and positive information. Dreams show us important details of the dreamer’s personality, and of the dreamer’s past, alerting us to the reasons for all their problems. This way, we can also immediately find the right solutions.

As a matter of fact, the unconscious mind helps us in this point too, but without giving us instantaneous answers. We are helped with clues and confirmations when we are in the right direction during our research, because we have to be able to solve our problems alone, without depending on any guidance.

The truth is that we don’t need any other psychologist, because the unconscious mind already is the best psychologist and psychiatrist we could ever find.

Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung’s research into the human psyche so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.

Conflicting ideas about dreams.

Lately there has been such a debate upon dreams, their meanings, their symbols, interpretating them yourself or having someone do it for you. Do dreams really contain messages? I am an experienced dream interpreter and have done much study and research on this topic. I, through my experience with many, many people, do see and have seen the power contained within dreams. I have many customers who have had their eyes opened to the wisdom contained in their dreams just by having me interpret one for them. One leads to another and I've been told that their dream interpretation helps them immensely. I've also been told that they unfold simular to what a tarot reading would do and manifest (if it's situation coming in the future to be faced) or whether it concerns them now, at the time they had the dream, and how it helps give them solutions and other options. Dreams are a language all their own. It is not something that some dream book or reference book can give you answers to. What means something to one person may not mean the same to 10 other people. It's all so diverse, it's so rich with information, yet it's only insight and guidance for the person who had the dream - not 100 other people. The dream language does not have the same meanings as what you would apply to them during your waking life.

Here are a few articles that I have come across. Some good points are acknowledged, some I find to be frivolous and obtuse. Check them out and then comment on where you stand on the subject, if you so wish.

Tap the insight power of your dreams - by John Selby and Ruth Refakes.

According to sleep research, almost all of us dream almost every night, but most of us have no idea what our dreams might mean, or how we might use our nightly experiences to our practical advantage. In ancient times, dreams were considered a direct link to higher insight and spiritual guidance. In our contemporary world, dreams continue to puzzle, confound, excite, illuminate, and otherwise stir up our waking thoughts and emotions. But, can they also be tapped into for specific insights?

I'd like to share with you a special approach to 'insight dreaming' inspired by a wonderful woman, Ruth Refakes, who is now 93 and still teaching this method. Based solidly on the psychological functioning of the brain, this method can empower all of us to tap predictably into higher wisdom and solutions.

When she was around 40, Ruth was a successful businesswoman in Chicago's financial district. One night she had a dream that illuminated her life situation with a flash of insight that had eluded her rational mind entirely. From then on, she began to actively study all the various approaches to dream interpretation, discovering a very simple process for tapping the whole-brain function of the intuitive mind on a regular basis. Her approach to dreaming does not require you to believe any religious or esoteric doctrine; you don't have to buy into a psychoanalytic interpretation school, nor do you have to go to anyone else to get answers and guidance from your dreams. She insists that only the dreamer knows the true meaning of his or her dreams. In a nutshell, here's her 'insight dreaming' method - experiment for the next few nights and see if it works for you:

CHOOSE YOUR ISSUE: Before sleeping, pause and tune into your breathing and the feelings in your heart. Then spend a few moments reflecting on the challenges, confusions, difficulties or conflicts that you're carrying to sleep with you. Choose one issue that you'd like to wake up the next morning with answers to.

STATE YOUR INTENT: Now just before falling asleep, say to yourself and perhaps write down the following sentence several times, filling in the last part with your own issue:

"I want to have a dream that helps me ................................... "

Perhaps you say, "I want to have a dream that helps me know what to do next in my business."

Perhaps you say, "I want to have a dream that helps me be more successful in my relationship."

Or maybe you say, "I want to have a dream that helps me become more healthy (or stronger; or more successful, etc).

Sometimes you might say something like, "I want to have a dream that guides me in making the right decision."
Each night, by clarifying what's most important to receive insight and wisdom and guidance into resolving, you'll:

a) Understand your life situation more clearly;

b) Aim your intent toward resolving that situation;

c) Let go of worries and fall asleep with positive intent.

WAKE UP AND REMEMBER: The next step is to remember when you wake up, to pause and remember the dream that stands out most in your mind. Just relive the dream without trying to 'do' anything with it.

1. Tune into the overall feeling you woke up with in the morning; experience the emotions associated with the dream experience.
2. Relive the flow of images and events in the dream.
3. See clearly in your mind 'what' and 'who' is in the dream.
4. Be open to flashes of insight that might come, while you are immersed in remembering the images and drama of dream.

REFLECT AND RECEIVE: Now take a moment to tune into your breathing experience (this shifts you into insight mode) and then ask yourself the following questions:

A. Bring to mind the sentence you came up with the night before - what were you asking your deeper self for help with?

B. While staying aware of your breathing and your inner feelings, see what thoughts, ideas, images, associations, symbols and insights come to mind during the next few minutes.

C. As you go about your day, pause now and then to reflect again upon your dream. Stay open to that flash of insight generated by the dream experience. Sometimes the flash doesn't come for several days, so keep tuned in!

Ruth's 'insight dreaming' process is powerful because it's based on how our minds work psychologically, and because it's simple enough that you can practice it nightly:

a) Identify your core issue that you seek insight into.

b) Program your mind to dream about answers to that issue.

c) Wake up and relive the dream that came to you.

d) Reflect upon the dream using association and insight.

e) Stay open to receive flashes of insight when they come.

Some very interesting things about dreams.

I came across this article, which certainly ties in with just one of the things that I do, dream interpretation. I enjoyed this so much, that it worth sharing so people can understand how important dreams really are. Keep in mind, that dream meanings do NOT mean the same as waking meanings. It is more of a secret language that is learned or perhaps more of a foreign language. A dreams importance has been characterized for many centuries throughout history.

**Keep in mind that dream meanings are not the same as waking meanings. For example, if you die in a dream, it is not foretelling that you or someone will depart this earthly realm. Or if your teeth are falling out, it doesn't signify that you have a periodontal problem. I have studied dream interpretation for over a decade and have much professional experience with the subject and giving guidance. Dreams can tell of upcoming events or situations that you may soon face and they also hold the key to helping to solve the problems you face and are dealing with.

Do you believe in dreams? If not, why?

I have touched on this subject a few times in the past. Do people dream? Do they remember dreaming? Why do some people think that they don’t dream? Why do some believe that dreams are just fluff? Can we really learn from our dreams?

Actually, dreams are really important. It can tell you how to deal with and all about a problem you will face and how to overcome that problem. But only if you listen and pay attention. These are the ways in which your own higher guidance or ‘spirit’ communicates with you through the dream realm. Some people believe that you are communicating with God, himself, through the messages of dreams or His angels, which are also considered your angels. God also has many names, Buddha, Allah, etc. No matter who you believe in and what you call Him, remember we are all in his hands and he does communicate with us.

In my other articles, I have touched on the different parts of dreaming. Just in case, I’ll explain it again, there is the beginning, which can give you the time, place and people involved. There is the presentation, which is basically the appearance of the dreams problem coming to light. Then, there is the climax. This is where the transformation has taken place and the situation or catastrophe is unveiled. And, finally, there is the conclusion or the closing phase of the dream. Are you starting to understand what I’m talking about?

I do have some customers who do believe in power of dreams and the interpretation of them. For some, they wake up and jot it down. For others, in order for them to get the full benefit, they find it helpful to keep a dream journal. Either way, it all works out. However, the longer we wait to write down our dreams, the more apt we are to omit details or just forget about them altogether. Even if you just write down a few key details, it helps to trigger the memory at a later time when you are writing or typing them out to have interpreted. I keep a journal for dreams so I can refer back to it and if I don’t understand the lesson, I will at a later time when I am presented with the situation. This way, I am able to keep using the lesson and knowledge throughout my lifetime. Another way to look at the dream journal is that by keeping one, we are sending a message to God that we hear Him and that we take what He says seriously. Many people actively ask God to speak to them through dreams. For those of you who do not believe in the power of dreams, then the information may not generally be volunteered to you. It may or it may not - it all depends on you and your open mindedness to it. It’s there for the taking, but if you do not heed it, then it may disappear until you ask for it.

The details of a dream are important, no matter how minute and small you think it is because it would not be put in the dream if it wasn’t significant in one form or another. If we don’t pay attention to these small details, we’ll miss the valuable information and messages to be received. Dreams are like a puzzle and the pieces need to be put together in order to solve the mind mystery and understand and unlock the message that is meant for us. Dreams don't always mean what you think they do. Dream meanings are not the same as waking meanings. For example, if you die in a dream, it is not foretelling that you or someone will depart this earthly realm. Or if your teeth are falling out, it doesn't signify that you have a periodontal problem. The same holds true for dreaming that you are at an AA or NA meeting-it doesn't mean that you will suffer the effects of being addicted to drugs or alcohol. I have studied dream interpretation for over a decade and have much professional experience with the subject and giving guidance. I can’t stress the point enough that you should be careful and not assume that you know the interpretation of the dream through your own personal and natural way of thinking. By trying to do that, you run a risk of having a marred and unclear version of what God wants to speak to you about, especially if you end up taking the details of your dream literally, and using your natural and personal way of thinking to figure it out. Instead, you must consider trying to understand their symbolic nature. Because dreams are usually symbolic, what they look like on the surface is often not at all really what they are about or what the point trying to get across is.

Drawing the interpretation of our dreams solely from dream books is another mistake to be avoided. Dream books can be useful and do have an advantage, however, your dreams are highly personal, and meanings of details and purpose in them are often tailored fit to you specifically. Dream books list what certain items have meant commonly to many people, or may fall in a category but it does not necessarily follow that an object must mean this or that or even what the dream book says it represents.

If and when you are ready for some insight, please don’t hesitate to check me out. This is one of my unique gifts. I have much experience with this wisdom and guidance.

Remember, we are all in God's, Allah, Buddha's hands. Brightest blessings!

How to record dreams.

So decided it's time to listen to your dreams and you would like to explore them to see what all the hype is about. A good way is to keep a record or journal of them.

Once you start recording dreams, be sure to include as much detail as possible. Record how you felt in your dream or your feelings in reference to the dream. Example, did you any of the people, were there colors or symbols? What about smells and weather? Write in as much detail as you can. When you wake up, write as much down as possible and that includes any images or people that jump out on you or in other words-pop into your mind. By keeping a journal, you can vent and practice your skills (writing, creativity, etc.) You may be a poetic or author and not even know it. This also helps in keeping a record of your mental health and well-being. Dreaming gives you messages. It can give you solutions to situations and can warn you of upcoming events or situations. Dreaming is a self-awareness that most people don't even realize. Your higher self and higher wisdom is trying to help you understand yourself.

You can use any type of notebook, lined paper, copy paper, whatever you want to write things down about your dream. Plus, you can reread it later on and see how it played and coincided with what was going on in your waking life at that time. You may always record the dreams and ask your dream interpreter to help you understand the messages that you don't understand. The important thing is to record them. Try it once and have it interpretated. You'll be amazed.

Brightest blessings!

Dream Interpretation is Mental Health for Life

Seriously, by following the dream messages and the guidance you receive from the wise unconscious mind you will learn how to develop your intelligence. You really do learn so much and once you understand the hidden meanings and messages of your dreams, you'll discover a real treasure and a wealth of knowledge in the dream messages. The scientific method of dream interpretation has saved many just by bringing mental health, wisdom and happiness to its followers since the early 1900's. Besides that, this is an investment in something that already belongs to you: your own dreams.

Unlock the key to yourself-try a dream journel and keep track of your dreams. By writing them down, you may remember more details as you write. Or keep a piece of paper and pencil or pen so if and when you wake up, take the time to write what you remember. Then have them interpreted. You'll be amazed at what you find and what messages you'll get. If you are at a crossroad and have a decision to make, sometimes the answer comes in your dreams, only you don't know it or recognize it. Give it a try and see what journey awaits you.

I do specials at least once a week. Save them up or save one and have it interpreted. You'll be so amazed!

Love and brightest blessings!

Need help remembering dreams?

For those of you who have trouble dreaming or don't remember your dreams, here are some suggestions you can try to bring on dreams or to help you remember them:

**Try self hypnosis. This is done once you get into bed. Close your eyes, clear your mind, take deep breaths and recite, "I will remember my dream when I wake up." Repeat this over and over until you doze off.

**Dream oil. Use this on pillow to induce sleep and prophetic dreams or visions.

**Lavender. Use for calming and peace. Try burning a lavender candle before bed to let the aroma fill the air or sprinkle some lavender oil on pillow or in bath water to relax you for bed.

**Midnight oil. Sprinkle on pillow to help produce prophetic dreams.

**Mimosa oil. Anoint the body before going to bed to bring dreams and reveal upcoming events.

**Rose. You may use rose oil or light a rose scented candle, sniff some rose potpourri or use rose room spray for drawing calmness and peace before bed.

**Vision oil. Apply to the forehead and temples before going to bed to bring prophetic dreams. (This is a favorite amongst spiritualists).

**Tranquility oil. This is a good calming, soothing and peaceful oil. Use in bath or dab on body. You may also burn this scented candle.

**Chamomile. You may burn the scented candle, drink a warm cup of this tea, or use the oil to induce sleep.

**Celery. Stuff a small bag with celery seed and place under pillow or in pillow case to bring on restful sleep.

**Marjoram. You may sniff this oil or herb to induce restful sleep. This is also used to help your emotional state in cases such as grief, for example, the passing of a loved one. ~ caution ~ Over inhalation of this scent can put you out like a like light.

**Herkimer. This is a quartz resembling a diamond. It can be placed under the pillow to increase relaxation and stimulate clairvoyance.

**Jade. Place this stone under your pillow to help you recall your dreams. This is known as the 'dreamers stone'.

**Kyanite. This stone brings calmness and tranquility. This will balance the chakras of the body and it, too, is a wonderful stone for dreaming.
Once you wake up, write down what you do remember. Then, you can try to interpret yourself or send to an advisor asking for guidance and their wisdom on understanding the message.

Realm of Dreams

I am sure that you have entered into the realm of dreams at one time or another. After all, we spend approximately one third of our life sleeping and participating in the dream realm. Everyone's dream - just like the individual who dreams it - is unique. Did you know that dreams have four parts? There is the beginning, which can give you the time, place and people involved. There is the presentation, which is basically the appearance of the dreams problem coming to light. Then, there is the climax. This is where the transformation has taken place and the situation or the catastrophe is unveiled. And, finally, there is the conclusion or the closing phase of the dream. This is how we receive a wealth of guidance from our own intuitive self. Everyone has the ability to be intuitive. For example, the inner voice. Do you heed what it tells you? This site is dedicated to help you figure out the mystery of what your mind/spirit is trying to tell you so you can solve the mind puzzle, understand the meaning and even apply the message into your everyday life. With my help, you'll be given the key to your own self exploration, insight for you to understand your own self and get to know yourself better. Life itself, after all, is one big lesson.

First off, let me explain to you a little bit about the sleep cycle... I won't go to in depth with it as to keep from boring you, but what you must know or should know to help you understand the dream realm is REM sleep. There are different stages to the sleep cycle but the most common for dreams is REM (rapid eye movement). This is the stage where your eyes dart back and forth and your body jerks/jumps. You can experience this stage more than once in your sleep cycle. Not to mention, should you disrupt the sleep pattern by getting up for a glass of water, to go to the bathroom, check on a sick child or a crying baby, that once you get back to bed and start drifting off, you can experience this cycle again. While we sleep, our minds are still active. We receive answers to our everyday worries. Most people just don't know how to get the answers because they don't know what their dreams mean. People can experience more than just one dream in a single night. Those people that say they don't dream, simply just don't remember them. A majority of people can not remember their dreams within the first few waking minutes. By the time the coffee is ready they have no recollection of the dream at all. But if you were to be awakened during REM sleep, you'd be more apt to remember your dream.

The types of dreams

As you may see from the list below, there are many different types of dreams. The following list touches a few of them.

How about Prophetic dreams? These are dreams that tell the future. It's as if our mind receives a message and knows what is to come before we know what's coming or on it's way.

What about an Epic dream? Have you ever heard of this one? Epic dreams have such detail and are so vivid and memorable that they will stay with you. You could have dreamt it 10 years ago, 3 years ago or even in childhood and it seems like just yesterday you dreamt it.

Lucid dreams. This is a dream within a dream. Imagine that! Two for the price of one. This is the type of dream when you'd say, 'hold on a minute...I have got to be dreaming.' And, of course, you are.

Recurring and re-occurring dreams. These are dreams that keep repeating. For example, in the past seven nights, you experienced the same dream three times.

Nightmares. Who hasn't experienced one of these? This is a bad dream. It contains disturbing events/contents so that it will or can wake you abruptly. Usually you'll feel frightened and it seemed so real. Nightmares are very common in young children, which is why they wake up scared, screaming, or crying, and need to be comforted.
