Is today the day for you?

Greetings one and all. Okay, at one time or another, we all reach our breaking point. The point where we wonder how it will get better, the point where we are just helpless to the situations that are around us, the point where tears, anguish and disgust are taking its toll on our health and our appearance shows it, the point where worries, depression and fears rule our lives and we wonder how to go on and if it’s all worth it. Now, I’m not here to preach to you. No, far from it. I am not a preacher or minister - I have none of the credentials. All I can do is feel your emotions and try to guide you through the tough time you are going through and give you a new perspective.

Let me answer the above question, first. Is it all worth it? Yes. Yes, it is worth it. It’s not time to give in or give up. It’s time to get livid. Bad things happen all the time to people. It’s a trial. It’s a lesson. Without these trials and lessons, we’d be nothing. We’d be boring. Think back to different conversations you have had with people. Once a subject is brought up, how many people chime in that they have gone through that and know exactly what you’re talking about or agree with you? Everything about each of us - self confidence, uniqueness, demeanor, wisdom, talents, specialties, triumphs and failures have all shaped us into who we are today. Without good and bad lessons, how would we distinguish between the two? How could we appreciate accomplishments without the trials and errors? How would we know just how strong we are and what we are capable of without the hard times? Am I right?

For those of you who believe and pray to God, have you ever considered really conversing with him? I’m not talking about grace before meals or prayers at night. I’m talking about really receiving God. I’m talking about really surrendering yourself to Him. How does it make you feel if you were to stand alone (whether it be in your home, out in nature or in a church - anywhere) and surrender? Does it scare you? Can you stand in God’s presence and ask for help or forgiveness? Or do you put off God and not believe? Is it because He has taken something from you that you really care for, that you practice a different religion, have no need to believe because there has been no proof that He exists, etc.? No matter what you believe, there is something out there that is better and bigger than us and our existence. (Proverbs, Chapter 25, verse 3 - The heaven for height and the earth for depth and the heart of kings is unsearchable). Many people do not speak of God in everyday conversations. Why, because some people do not believe, they just roll their eyes, some people don’t want to be labeled ‘holy roller,’ some people believe that their relationship with God is sacred and no one else’s business, basically, to each their own. (Proverbs, Chapter 25, verse 2 - It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter).

I, personally, do believe and I owe all that I am to Him. He guides me through my trials and He helps me guide others through theirs. So if you are a believer or feel that something is missing in your life, try finding the Almighty. He doesn’t abandon, He will carry. He doesn’t hate, He forgives. He doesn’t forsake, He loves. So instead of saying are you going to hear me, are you going to help me, are you going to take away this illness, why not try abandoning these thoughts. Instead, why not try to surrender to the will and ask for Him to fill you with glory and His presence and see what happens. Of course, the key is to really mean it and want it with all your heart, not just by saying words. Ask for strength to overcome trials and not be swallowed by them. It is written in the scripture that if God be there for you, who dare be against you? Right now, at this time, where you are in your life and with your dealings, it is no surprise to God. What must you do? Try to meditate. Leave your cares and worries behind. Reach to a higher power within yourself. Find the God-like part of yourself. Find a level of peace, no matter how small and how short the time period is, find it. You must give your mind a break from the worry, your body a break from the stress, your spirit needs the rejuvenation. Find your power zone. For the believers in God, face the fact that God is in complete control of your life. Your actions speak louder than words. I know you have heard that line before. But in God’s eyes, when you go to a place of peace and open up to him, it means you trust Him, you trust in Him and believe in Him. After all, God is bigger than any of your problems and situations. (Imagine what luggage he is carrying on his shoulders). He is bigger than you and I. He is the all seeing and He knows. In Proverbs, Chapter 25, verse 11 - A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Verse 12 - as an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. Verse 13 - as the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. So what does this mean, it all correlates with the above sentences. Verse 11 is simply stating that by conversing with God and asking for him to come in to your life is like apples of gold to Him. A fine present, like jewelry but better. Verse 12 simply states that God has an obedient ear and when asking Him to help guide you or come into your life because you are ready to invite him in, it is considered the best gift, better than jewelry of gold. Verse 13 simply speaks of something unexpected or unpleasant (a situation that has risen) just like a snow storm at the time of harvesting your fruit or crop that you worked so hard for by sowing the seed, nourishing it, watching the growth for signs of trouble just to have it all fall into despair by the chilly cold of a snowstorm. But by being a believer, God has the power to restore and refresh, whether it be the crop or the soul. He, alone, has the power.

Look around you and see what good you have in your life. Do you have a roof over your head? Okay, perhaps you are one of countless thousands who lost your home by an act of nature or a foreclosure - push that out of your mind for a few minutes because you are not the only one. Look around and see what you do have. Do you have family, children you love and adore and would die for and wish only the best for? Do you have friends, health, pets? Do you have a job and money coming in? Do you have a favorite place in nature to sit, enjoy, de-stress and watch what goes on around you? Do you have a favorite class - in school, yoga, meditation? Do you have a garden that you are proud of and enjoy looking at? Are your tomato, pepper and cucumber plants growing and coming in? What do you have in your life you can give thanks for. How about your life? Every day is a new beginning, which is why it is called the present. Consider what this means to you - Proverbs, Chapter 28, verse 11 - the rich man is wise in his own conceit: but the poor that hath understanding searches him out. Verse 12 - When righteous men do rejoice, there is a great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden. What comes to mind when hearing these verses? Does nothing come to mind because you do not understand the language of the words? I am sure you get some type of meaning out of the rich man being wise with his own conceit. But what comes to mind when you think about the not so rich man that has the understanding and searches him out? Do you think it means that the rich, conceited man does not appreciate his stature or give thanks for it but the not so rich man does? And what comes to mind when you hear verse 12? Does that mean that God is happy to hear rejoicing and praise? That a great milestone and victory has been won? When wicked rise, a man is hidden - can that mean wicked ways, wicked do-ers, wicked revenge, ideas and actions? It’s just something to think about. Before I close this posting, I want to leave you with one more thing to think about. It can be found in Hebrews, Chapter 23, verses 20, 22 and 23 - By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water, let us hold fast the profession (meaning acceptance/affirmation-professing of words not job related profession or what you do for a living) of our faith and hope without wavering; for he is faithful that promised. Remember, God will come through for you if you believe and give yourself to Him. Another important thing to remember is that God won’t do what you can do for yourself. He is the Almighty. God will do what we can’t do. God can do the impossible but it’s up to us, we have to keep up our faith and hope. Remember, the key here is God isn’t moved by our begging and pleading because He knows once the scenario is over, people tend to go back to their ways and the begging, pleading and promising were just words and are not being kept. He loves us, He shows compassion, mercy and pity. He is moved by our faith and actions, not words. He is moved by our actions and what steps we are willing to do and take. When we take a step, He’ll take a step. When we make a move, He makes a move. He really wants us to be happy and to be successful in our accomplishments and throughout our lives, because He loves us - unconditionally. But do you love him? (I know, not a minister or preacher, but I can give a good lecture and make you think, hunh)?

Brightest blessings to all!

Something to think about.

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, The mouse proclaimed this warning: "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it." The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers." The mouse turned to the cow and said,"There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose." So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap. ....Alone....

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it. It was a venomous snake whose tail was caught in the trap. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital. When she returned home she still had a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup. So the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient, chicken.

But his wife's sickness continued. Friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. But, alas, the farmer's wife did not get well...She died. So many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them for the funeral luncheon.

And the mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness. So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and you think it doesn't concern you, remember --- When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY. OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON.
One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a FRIEND. Blessed be and Amen!

Words of wisdom to think about.

Laugh when you can.

Apologize when you should.

Let go of what you cannot change.

May the stars carry your sadness away,

May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,

May hope forever wipe away your tears,

And, above all, may silence make you strong.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain,

But he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the day.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Remember, worry looks around, sorry looks back and faith looks up.
In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your effort with success.
Each day is a new beginning and blessing, that is why we call it the present.
