Christ's lesson still unlearned.

Here is a quite interesting article that I stumbled across. It's published in the Daily News Reader. I read it and some of it certainly holds true. Give it a read and then voice your opinion.

Meditation....have you tried it?

Lately, there has been much talk about the subject of meditation. Well, this is nothing new and has been around for ages and millenium. People are becoming more spiritual and are opening themselves to the idea of trying something new. We're more into health, doing fitness routines, eating a balanced diet, going organic or even growing our own fruits and veggies. Meditation is like exercise for the mind. It can calm the body, it can relieve stress and pain from illness, it's get us more in touch with us, who we are on a deeper level. We get to know ourselves deep down inside. People are taking an interest in yoga and zen - so the more interested they are on these subjects, the more it involves meditation.  Studies being conducted have found that there are health benefits to this practice and more and more people are fitting it into their busy schedules and lifestyles. Some of the articles are based in specific areas and host classes so if you live in the area, you may enrole in  a class to broaden yourself with this practice. On occasion, I even find and post interesting video's on this subject. If you are interested in this subject, I have found quite a few articles that might peek your interest. I will post the links below.

Why do people need psychics?

Here is a great article that I ran across written by Prophet. This article really hits some great targets that many people do not even consider. People get on their phone/cell phone, call in to a reader/advisor and shoot questions away and expect answers within a quick time so they don't spend much money. Yet, it you can afford a cell phone (some plans are outrageous) and you can afford internet, they why complain? Wouldn't you want the reader/advisor to spend quality time with you and really give you a good, down to earth informative reading? I, personally, would appreciate feeling special and that I am the main focus to help figure out my path. I wouldn't want a 'rush' job but some useful and quality time. After all, this is for my own peace of mind and well being. If I find that I am willing and ready for some help in some area of my life and will pay for it, then I most certainly am worthy of having the full attention and dedication from the person I choose to contact.

Anyway, here is Prophet's article:

Psychics are needed in today's society because they want to be able to do the right thing. Mind over matter is what makes a true psychic unique. You can learn to live with what you have inside of yourself because life is about learning new things. You can easily learn about life through the power of psychics. I have learned to keep myself disciplined enough and to wonder about life through the eyes of a reading. Psychic readings Have always appealed to me. I have told myself for years that a psychic reading is what makes people happy or sad. People that get psychic readings will often tell you that they have to learn about themselves first before they can actually learn how to be more psychic. In the process of life, we all go through stages in which we want to learn more about the psychic industry. These stages often make us feel powerful. We have to learn how to listen to our inner spirit and understand that we can make a lot out of life itself. Our decisions in life have a lot to do with who we are as a people.

You have to learn how to listen to yourself and to be on top of your own goals. I think that goals have a lot to do with our well being. Some psychics like to take their time during a live psychic session and others don't like to take their time. I prefer to visit with psychics that want to take their time out for me. I know that it is not easy to hear someone's problems, but I do appreciate the time that a psychic has to put into the reading itself. It takes a lot of discipline to be a psychic advisor and I know that many people would not like doing this job. Some people think that you can just pick up a telephone and start giving psychic readings to people. Unfortunately, that's now how it works.

It is a lot harder than that. In order to be a good psychic, you have to really learn how to give yourself a lot of love. You have to learn how to give yourself the power to control what is in your fate and on your mind almost daily. I have learned to be content with where I am at in my life right now. It is important for any person to discover themselves in new ways. It's important because life will always be able to show you a certain way to walk. Even when we think that we have all of the answers, we will find that we do not. Overall, life can be a huge challenge if we are looking at it with an open eye. We must fully come to the point that we feel an urge to give of ourselves more. Even in times of trouble, a psychic reader is always there to talk to.

Are psychic readings expensive? How much is normal for one?

Here is a pretty interesting article that I found online that answers the questions above. The author's name, I couldn't find it - said admin, lol. I do agree with a good portion of the authors summation. To read the article, please click on the link below:
http://www.ahauntedtrail.com/are-psychic-readings-expensive-how-much-is-normal-for-a-psychic-reading/

In my experience, I too have had some great readings for next to nothing. I've been totally disappointed by some of the most expensive 'psychics' out there. I found them to be very vague and just general - would fit anyone. Yet I had a favorite spot that I used to enjoy decades ago. It was a psychic restaurant. You'd pay a set fee - like $35 and would make an appointment with your tarot reader/advisor of your choice. I favored Susan. Yet many favored Billy. Everyone pretty much zoned in on who they would feel most comfortable with (quite a few advisors there with different gifts/talents to choose from). You would go early so you could have lunch and get yourself prepared - go over your list of questions or your concern that you needed help and guidance with. Then after your lunch, the psychic advisor/tarot reader would come over and sit with you at the table and go to work. It was really great - great food, great service, great atmosphere, great advisors.

The spiritual importance of Lent.

During my exploring upon the net, here I came across a wonderful article by By Father William Ventura

GateHouse News Service which was posted on WickedLocal.com. Enjoy - the article is below.

Christians the world over are moving through Lent towards Easter, the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is an inclination inherent in many Christians to rush past the penance of Lent into the joy of Easter. Resurrection, spring, flowers and new life tend to be more attractive than penance, fasting, crosses and tombs. It’s not that we shouldn’t hurry towards Easter, but that doesn’t necessitate rushing through Lent. The desire to rush through Lent must be fought against.

Pope John Paul II often said that we are an Easter people; this concept and turn of phrase has gained a common parlance across many Christian groups. Easter, however, makes no sense and has no significance without Lent. The Pope knew this, but sometimes we forget. Without the cross and tomb, any focus on the resurrection and empty tomb are just that: empty. We can’t celebrate God’s victory over death if we don’t spend time contemplating the means by which that victory was won. This does not mean that we revel in the suffering of Jesus’ passion, but instead we marvel at the love that makes such suffering, such sacrifice bearable. We gaze with rapt attention at the crucified Christ knowing full well that it was our sins, our personal sins, that put Him there, yet He hangs there in perfect love for us nonetheless. If the goal of the Christian life is transformation in Christ, we need to stay in Lent, focused on His passion, to see how we are to be transformed in Him.

At the heart of the Passion is the crucifixion. At the heart of the crucifixion is the death of Jesus. His life, however, was not taken from Him, it was offered by Him to the Father with the words, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” (Luke 23:46) We cannot abandon ourselves over to the Father, handing to Him our spirit, as did Jesus, if we have already handed over our spirit to the world and its temptations and empty promises. This is the key to Lent, to the fasting and penances and spiritual exercises: by fasting and penances, we cut the ties that bind us to the things of this world, both good and bad, in order to prepare for the better things, the perfect things only offered by God. By changing our focus and adjusting our gaze, by emptying ourselves of all that this world gives, we open ourselves to the transforming grace with which God wishes to fill us. One example of this would be abstinence from meat on Fridays. By saying no to something good, to something like meat, which we enjoy, we grow in the virtue of temperance. In other words, if we build the habit of indulging and feeding our every whim and appetite, even with things that might be good, our instinct, our habit becomes to simply say yes to our appetites without a second thought, even when our appetites desire something that is not good. By fasting we learn to put things in right order, not allowing ourselves to be distracted by even the good things of this world to the neglect of the better things of the life to come.

In Lent, we remember when Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray. Through Lent, we go with Him, and learn that even in the desert, where there is nothing, we still have God and He alone suffices. By quieting the desires of the body we are better able to pay attention to the one desire of the soul, which is union with God. We come to see how little our body needs compared with how much our soul needs. In the fourth century, Saint Augustine taught that our hearts are restless until they rest in God. Lent makes us aware of the absolute truth that all we need is God. Through life and death and into life again, God is the only constant. He is more than we could ever want or imagine, and the fulfillment of our every desire in ways we will never fully understand in this life.

If we are to be like Christ, transformed in Him, then we must do as He did, and carry our cross as He carried His. For us this means we must take up the crosses of everyday life, bearing with patience all the difficulties and struggles that may come, and love in spite of them, fixing our eyes always on the perfect love of God. This takes a lifetime, of which Lent is our yearly reminder, and we can’t rush it. Only by sharing in the love of the Cross can we merit the joy of our own promised resurrection, on the last day of this world, when Christ will come again in glory and invite us to the Father’s house. By detaching ourselves from the things of this life, and desiring only the things of the life to come, we prepare to accept that invitation for which we are made: to enter into and share God’s glory in Heaven.
